Danger Scales 3-2 utilize the full range of the instrument for the given key. Since each instrument has different available octaves relating to the key, you will find long tones that serve as a drone while other sections complete their octaves. You will also hear harmonies as certain instrument sections are ascending or descending, depending on their range.
Scales Included – G Major, Gb Major, A Major, f minor, Bb minor, a minor, e minor, eb minor, and Advanced Chromatic Scale.
Danger Notes – Danger Notes are no longer marked in Danger Scales 3 series.
Transposing Instruments – Definitions of transposing instruments are no longer included in this series.
Fingerings – Fingerings are no longer included in this series.
Percussion – Students should begin with mallets; however, adding the snare and bass drum parts will add rhythmic stability while working on fundamental techniques.
Teaching Tips – These scales also provide the basic octaves and rhythmic patterns of the MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra) Proficiency 2 Scales.
